6 Easter Eggs in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ You Probably Overlooked
Contains spoilers for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’
Los Angeles, California: ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ finally hits theaters on Friday, July 26, and it’s everything we’ve been hoping for! The long-awaited team-up between Wolverine and Deadpool did not disappoint.
The movie is packed with action and surprise cameos, but it also has some sneaky Marvel references that only die-hard fans will notice. We’ve rounded up 6 Easter eggs from ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ that you might have missed.

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ vow not to undo the events of ‘Logan’. Well, mostly. The movie opens with Wade Wilson digging up Wolverine’s grave and using his adamantium bone to take down TVA’s enforcers. This wild scene is set to NSYNC’s ‘Bye Bye Bye’.
When Wade finds Logan’s body, he jokes about the 206 bones in the human body, “or 207 if I’m watching Gossip Girl”. This is a nod to Ryan Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, who starred on the show.
As for the extra ‘bones’, that’s for you to figure out.

In ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, Wade searches for a Wolverine variant to anchor Earth-10005. This results in an epic sequence featuring Hugh Jackman playing multiple Wolverines! We see the comic-accurate 5’3″ version, Weapon Omega, Patch, Old Man Logan, and even a crucified Wolverine mimicking the iconic ‘Uncanny X-Men #251’ cover.
There’s also an unmasked Wolverine in the classic brown and tan suit, battling The Hulk. But the biggest surprise is Henry Cavill’s cameo as ‘The Cavillrain’ – he’s played the role and we expect to see more of him in the MCU soon.
Deadpool takes a personal jab at some of the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ actors

After learning that Daredevil is dead, the Mark with the Mouth expresses his sympathy to Elektra to which she responds, “It’s okay.” Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck starred together in 2003’s Daredevil and later married.
They eventually divorced, so the fact that Elektra is taking death so well without fear of Man is obviously a hat tip to that little incident.
Another surprisingly personal joke comes when Deadpool says that Wolverine is usually shirtless but has given himself up “since the breakup.” For those of you who don’t know, Hugh Jackman and Deborah-Lee Furness split last year after 27 years together!
Deadpool in Iron Man’s office is one of our favorite moments in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

When Deadpool uses Cable’s time-travel device to enter the Sacred Timeline, he meets with Happy Hogan in Tony Stark’s office to discuss joining The Avengers. Room full of Easter eggs!
Look closely and you’ll see Captain America’s unfinished shield, Agent Coulson’s playing cards (the same one Loki had when he killed him), Pepper Potts on the cover of Forbes magazine, Ultron’s Iron Man mask, Mark V briefcase and Tony’s engraved arc reactor.
Plus, there’s a huge connection to Spider-Man that makes a popular fan theory from ‘Iron Man 2’ officially part of the MCU canon!
‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ screams the first Avengers movie

After saving the day, Deadpool and Wolverine grab a bite to eat. Deadpool suggests shawarma, giving a shout-out to The Avengers for introducing it — a nod to the 2012 movie’s famous post-credits scene where the heroes sit down and get shawarma.
In the final shot, as they celebrate with friends and family, take a closer look at the pizza box in the background: it’s labeled “Feige’s Famous Pizza,” a nod to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
It’s a subtle Easter egg that’s easy to miss, but a fun surprise for fans!
It’s not a Marvel movie without Stan Lee’s cameo

Stan ‘The Man’ Lee may not have created Deadpool, but he still left his mark on the character. In ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, a cartoon Stan Lee appears on the side of a bus, advertising a cleaning company. This nod to the legendary comic creator is a heartfelt tribute following his 2018 passing.
It’s a fun way to honor his huge influence on the Marvel Universe, where he already had memorable on-screen interactions with Deadpool in the first film and a promo for the sequel.
