‘Bachelorette’ Alumna Rachel Lindsay’s Husband, Bryan Abasolo, Files for Divorce
“The Bachelorette” alum Rachel Lindsay’s husband, Bryan Abasolo, has filed for divorce.
The chiropractor submitted court papers Tuesday to end their marriage, listing their separation date as Dec. 31, 2023, Page Six can confirm.
Abasolo, 43, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation and is seeking spousal support. The ex-couple does not share any children.
The news comes just weeks after Lindsay, 38, revealed the two lived “totally different lives” due to their drastically different career paths.
She explained on the “Viall Files” podcast that Abasolo typically works 12-hour days “alone” while she has “a lot more free time” in her job.
“So we’re in two totally different places,” she explained, noting that they tried to work together, but it backfired.
“You have to protect the marriage and we just don’t work well together,” she said. “Not every couple can do this.”

The two met and fell in love on season 13 of “The Bachelorette,” which aired in 2017.
They got engaged during the finale, filmed in Spain, and then married in August 2019 in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Mexico.
Lindsay — who made history as the first Black person to lead an iteration of ABC’s reality TV franchise — opened up about her relationship with Abasolo during an interview for the “Off the Vine” podcast from fellow “Bachelorette” Kaitlyn Bristowe.
“When we left the show, you feel the pressure of having to show people how we’re doing,” the TV host said in August, explaining that she and the doctor had kept their romance private in recent times. years.
“They want this because they fell in love with us as a couple and want to see how we are doing and check in.”
Lindsay noted that she and Abasolo often felt like they had to “perform” for fans who were invested in their future as a couple. She added that prying eyes and the public’s penchant for gossip didn’t make their love life any easier.
“I remember being in public in a grocery store and it felt like people were staring at us,” the “Miss Me with That” hitmaker continued. “They were monitoring our conversation and our body language.”
Lindsay mentioned that a “story came out” about her and Abasolo waiting for an Uber, during which the handsome chiropractor “walked away” from his wife.
“I don’t even know why he left, maybe he must have thrown something away,” she told Bristowe, 38. “They blew it and I felt anxiety about having to play for people I don’t know. I even know that and they don’t know me.
After meeting on “The Bachelorette,” Lindsay — originally from Dallas — and Abasolo — originally from Miami — eventually moved to Los Angeles.
The “Higher Learning” podcast co-host admitted to Bristowe that her relationship with Abasolo was “up and down,” while acknowledging that their social media presence as a couple diminished over time.
“There were months where Bryan and I didn’t post and everyone thought we were going to break up. They were counting how long it had been since we posted to each other and how long it had been since we liked each other’s posts,” she said.
“I don’t even pay attention to that kind of thing, I’m too present in real life. I am a very bad person on social media. In fact, I wish I was better.
Abasolo and Lindsay do not share any children, although the latter has taken a step back from her work as an “Extra” correspondent to focus on starting a family.
“I hope for the children. I hope we work less. Bryan has his own practice here in Los Angeles. He’s alone, so he works very long days,” she said on “Off the Vine.”
“Now I’m in a very lost phase, a bit of a transition phase. Hopefully we have kids and are now working towards something bigger,” Lindsay explained. “So hopefully we’ve built the bigger one and we can spend more time raising a family.”
