Best Dressed Celebrities at the 2024 Emmys: Suki Waterhouse, Selena Gomez, More

While historic strikes in Hollywood pushed the Emmys ceremony from September 2023 to January 2024, the looks on Monday night’s red carpet were well worth the wait.

Continuing the trend seen at the Golden Globes earlier this month, red proved a popular color, with Meghann Fahy, Selena Gomez and Suki Waterhouse among the stars choosing stunning gowns in shades of scarlet.

Others opted for something even brighter and bolder in the form of neon numbers; Jessica Chastain stunned in fluorescent glitter, while Padma Lakshmi and Rhea Seehorn also looked lovely in lime looks.

And a number of celebrities have swapped their dresses for elegant, retro-style maxi dresses, including Ayo Edebiri, Jessica Williams and Jenna Ortega.

Below, our best-dressed picks from Emmy night.

Selena Gomez

To be clear, the “Only Murders in the Building” actress’ burgundy sequinned Oscar de la Renta illusion dress is stunning on its own. But we especially love how she paired it with matching vampy lipstick and René Caovilla velvet sandals — not to mention the dazzling Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany necklace set with a 35-carat pink morganite.

Ayo Edebiri

Yes sir ! The “The Bear” star and Best Supporting Actress winner tends to gravitate toward more minimalist looks, and this black leather balloon-skirted Louis Vuitton dress suited her perfectly. “They shaped it for me. And we’re ripped and we love it,” Edebiri told E!’s Laverne Cox. on the red carpet.

A timeless diamond tennis necklace, earrings and eternity bracelet, all from Brilliant Earth, added a touch of subtle sparkle.

Jessica Chastain

All eyes were on the “George & Tommy” contestant in this electric green sequined Gucci dress dripping with beaded fringe.

Reza’s emerald jewelry — and, of course, Chastain’s fiery locks — were the ideal accompaniments.

Meghann Fahy

Rosettes have been everywhere this awards season, and the “White Lotus” favorite looked lovely in this Armani Privé red velvet column dress with romantic floral accents.

Accessories-wise, a few well-placed pieces from Bulgari took this impeccably tailored number to the next level.

Jessica Williams

The “Shrinking” star epitomized old-school glamor in this black velvet Rodarte dress with a simple bow and white tulle skirt.

Glamorous curls, bejeweled Betsey Johnson heels and a sprinkling of jewelry from Simon G and Vrai enhanced the elegance of the look.

Beatrice Granno

Like her co-star Fahy, Grannò opted for Armani Privé rosettes on Emmy night — and looked downright dazzling.

“I wanted to give an image of grace,” the actress told Marie Claire. “The dress has two red roses; it tells the story of a fulfilling moment, which is what I wanted to highlight during my first Emmys.

» joked Grannò about the dress, which she paired with Cartier jewelry: “I would never trust [my ‘White Lotus’ character] wear this dress. Mia is too messy.

Suki Waterhouse

Hot mom alert! The pregnant “Daisy Jones & The Six” star let her baby bump play hide and seek in this purple Valentino Haute Couture dress with a daring open back.

“They had to really take it apart and redesign that dress to fit the stomach. But it did and I’m really happy it worked,” Waterhouse revealed on the red carpet of the look, which she accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Jenna Ortega

The “Wednesday” nominee swapped her character’s dark clothes for something dreamier: a trellis-inspired Dior Haute Couture dress embroidered with garlands of wisteria, roses and clematis.

“It’s such a work of art; it literally stands on its own. “It’s a perfect dress to commemorate a special evening,” Ortega told E! of the design, which she accented with Dior Joaillerie gemstones.

Claire Danois

This is how to make a dramatic exit! The “Fleishman Is in Trouble” actress was a vision in this vintage pink Balmain dress featuring gorgeous jeweled straps crisscrossing across the back.

Cartier jewelry set with pastel-toned gemstones was the perfect finishing touch.
