The Giants may have failed Saturday at Minnesota, but damn it, they put up a hell of a fight.

This team was there with the second-best team in the NFC and really should have come out on top with a win. Daniel Jones continues to prove to doubters why the Giants should bring him back. He showed courage and a fight with not a ton of big names around him. Thanks to the losses of the teams below them, the Giants are now in a win-and-go scenario against the Colts next Sunday at MetLife Stadium on the first day of 2023.

In response to the Vikings’ 27-24 loss and where Big Blue stands, we bring you a new episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast featuring Lawrence Tynes, Paul Schwartz and me.

Blue Rush podcast with Lawrence Tynes, Brandon London and Jake Brown:

  • ENCOURAGING SIGNS IN LOSS: The Giants have been bitten by field goals from over 60 yards at the end of regulation a few times before and it happened again Saturday in Minnesota in the leg of Greg Joseph. Hard to lose, but the Giants have shown encouraging signs on both sides of football. The offense kept the ball moving all game and the defense put a lot of pressure on Kirk Cousins.
  • TURNOVER/ERRORS: The blocked punt led to the points. Daniel Bellinger’s fumble led to the points. That’s 10 points straight off the turnovers there. The blocked punt was not on Jamie Gillian. Bellinger’s fumble was great play from the defender. Richie James needs to make up for that 3rd and 5 he dropped. It was a huge play in the match. Has been
  • THE GRIT OF DANIEL JONES: He was the best QB on the field in that game. What he did with what he has there was huge. He continues to prove why the Giants can’t let him go in the offseason.
  • WIN AND ENTER: Next Sunday should rock at MetLife Stadium. The Giants have a chance to clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Colts in front of their home fans. It’s a nice turnaround from January football at East Rutherford for the past six years. The Giants would like revenge against the Vikings in the playoffs. It will likely be them or the 49ers they face.
