Britney Spears taps Charli XCX and Julia Michaels to write her first album in nearly a decade
A-list songwriters are eagerly lining up to work on Britney Spears’ long-awaited 10th studio album, sources tell Page Six.

Reps for Spears, Charli and Michaels did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The “Toxic” singer, 42, last released an album in 2016, titled “Glory.”
She took a break from work in 2019 and later described it as a strike, explaining that she did not want her estranged father, Jamie Spears, to continue profiting from her music sales during his conservatorship.
After a Los Angeles judge ended a 13-year legal settlement in 2021, Britney released collaborations with Elton John (“Hold Me Closer”) and Will.i.am (“Mind Your Business”) in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Page Six first reported in August that Britney was planning to record a new album amid her divorce from third husband Sam Asghari.
“She’s organizing an upcoming writers camp and getting songs from big artists,” a source told us at the time.
However, we’re told the Grammy winner ultimately took a break before returning to music to focus on the October release of her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in which she candidly admitted to “struggle” with the idea of performing again after years. of trauma.

Britney previously worked with Michaels, 30, on seven songs from “Glory,” including the single “Slumber Party.”
Charli, meanwhile, submitted demos for the “Crossroads” star’s 2013 album, “Britney Jean,” to no avail.
