Canada-US Rainbow Bridge closed after ‘vehicle explosion’: FBI – National

The Rainbow Bridge connecting Canada and the United States is currently closed in Niagara Falls after what the local FBI detachment is calling a “vehicle explosion.”

The branch said its Buffalo, New York, field office was investigating.

US-based NITTEC, made up of agencies in Western New York and Southern Ontario, confirmed the bridge closure in a social media post Wednesday afternoon, saying the bridge “is closed from Main Street to Falls Avenue in Niagara Falls due to an accident.” .”

The closure was reported at 11:51 a.m., the coalition of traffic authorities said.

The Niagara Regional Police Service told PKBNEWS the bridge was closed due to an investigation.

The state’s governor, Kathy Hochul, said she had “been informed of the incident” and was “closely monitoring the situation.”

“State agencies are on site and ready to a*sist,” she said.
