It was a Christmas to remember for Celtics star Marcus Smart.
Hours after Boston defeated the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, 139-118, the 28-year-old point guard took to Twitter, where he posted a series of cryptic messages before revealing some life-changing news: his engagement to girlfriend Maisa Hallum.
“Guess what …………,” smart tweeted before continuing with “I’ve had enough. I’ve held it back too long and it’s about time that was said….
Although Smart’s message“It’s time for me to go…” held his supporters in suspense, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year adding how he actually cut that message short.
“Oh I forgot the rest… It’s time for me to leave the single life. She said yes!!!” Smart said of her Christmas engagement.
In a separate Instagram post, Smart revealed how he got help from actor Will Smith to put together the vacation proposal.
“Now I know you might not have gotten what you wanted, I promise you you’re not going to end this Christmas empty handed,” Smith said in a pre-recorded clip, to which Smart s is then hitched. on one knee and asked the question.
Moments after Smart shared the news of his engagement on social media, he received an outpouring of well-wishes from his NBA family.
