Demi Lovato goes rocker chic on the 2023 VMAs red carpet
What’s wrong with being confident?
Demi Lovato on the 2023 VMAs red carpet On Tuesday, she looked every inch the rock star in a black pleated skirt mini dress with leather details and an oversized black leather coat.
She added a rock touch with smoky eyeshadow and slicked back her dark hair to complete the look.
Lovato, 31, appeared to attend the awards show solo, leaving boyfriend Jordan Lutes, who goes by Jutes, at home.
The couple have been dating since August 2022 and the star recently opened up about how dating Jutes, 31, helped cure her “daddy issues” after dating older men – including Wilmer Valderrama – in her younger years, calling it “disgusting”.
The star has a big night ahead of her, as she’s nominated for Best Pop Video and Best Video for Good and will perform at the MTV Awards for the first time in six years.
The appearance comes at an opportune time for Lovato, who parted ways with her longtime manager Scooter Braun last month; she recently made an appearance on “The Masked Singer” wearing a mouse costume and is set to release her new album, “Revamped,” on September 15.
“Revamped” will feature reimagined rock versions of some of the “Camp Rock” star’s biggest hits, including “Skyscraper,” “Heart Attack,” “Don’t Forget” and more.

It’s unclear exactly what Lovato will sing to mark her return to the VMAs stage, but her 2017 performance included the original versions of “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Cool For the Summer,” so fans could expect what she revisits old favorites in a new format.
The MTV VMAs, hosted by Nicki Minaj, will air live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Tuesday, September 12 at 8 p.m. on MTV and will be streamed on Paramount+.
