Fans are sad WWE ended Seth Rollins’ 1 Underrated Arc way too soon
Through NXT, WWE has produced some of its biggest stars, but none as big as Seth Rollins. Seth has become a King Midas for the WWE, turning everything he touches to gold. In addition to breaking records, Seth Rollins has mastered a skill that most wrestlers don’t: the art of trickery. With such a trick now in the limelight, fans are regretting that they didn’t get enough of it.
Over time, Seth Rollins has mastered several gimmicks, from architect to king slayer to visionary, but his heel side has always been more admired than his face persona. We get to see bad guy Seth Rollins during his run as The Messiah Seth Rollins in 2019-2021.
Seth Rollins’ Messiah Arc and How It Ends
Seth Rollins’ heel characters have always been the center of attention. While the Architect and Authority sides garnered the most heat, it was the Messiah side that made fans fall in love with him. During his 2019 run, he was already leaning towards the dark side, but after Survivor Series, Seth criticized everyone in the Raw locker room for their losses. Shortly thereafter, he formed an alliance with AOP and began his heel run.
After that, Buddy Murphy (then named just Murphy) joined the team, giving Arc a big boost. The Monday Night Messiah Seth Rollins became a central threat and even briefly, Austin Theory joined the team. In terms of championship wins, the only notable one during this arc was Seth Rollins’ tag team championship win with Murphy. However, this arc is notable for Seth’s mic skills.
As a heel, Seth had the freedom to completely blast everyone with all his powers. But this golden story had to end because WWE needed a huge babyface as Roman Reigns, turned top heel. Also, fans began cheering for Seth when he returned, leading him to transform the character into The Visionary, or The Drip God, becoming one of the biggest faces in the industry.
Fans are fed up with Seth Rollins’ Messiah storyline ending in WWE too soon
Seth had always been admired as a heel, but when WWE pulled off the gimmick and turned Seth Rollins into a full-on babyface, fans initially screamed his name at the top of their lungs. Later, they realized how special the Messiah character really was. Seth had some brutal heel runs, but this messiah felt real and brutal. This gimmick featured Seth Rollins playing God above all, which looked fresh.
Some fans are suggesting that the Messiah character is the most underrated gimmick in WWE history, and realistically, that may be true. With Roman Reigns about to begin the main arc of the Tribe, fans will love to see a heel-vs-heel fight. Although they saw one between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, it wasn’t Seth as the Messiah.
