Flixbus will offer bus service between Kitchener-Waterloo and Toronto Pearson Airport | PKBNEWS

For those living in the Waterloo Region looking for alternative ways to get to Pearson Airport and Toronto, Flixbus has announced that it will soon provide transportation between the International Airport and Kitchener-Waterloo.

The Germany-based company says buses will run between Waterloo and the airport three days a week, with the only stop along the way being in downtown Kitchener.

Buses will make two round trips to Toronto on scheduled days.

On Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, buses will leave Waterloo at 11:20 a.m. and 6:50 p.m., stopping in Kitchener 15 minutes later. They should arrive at Pearson Airport approximately 80 minutes after departure and continue to Union Station where they will make their final stop.

A company spokesperson told PKBNEWS that the current schedule is designed for students and weekend travelers.

“This is our first slate of services at Pearson since we launched last April, and we’ve designed our schedule to better accommodate students and weekend travelers to the Kitchener metro area,” the manager said. Flixbus Public Relations Sean Hanft in an email.

The company arrived in Canada last April, one of many looking to fill the void created by Greyhound’s demise.

The company currently offers intercity travel between several major cities in southern Ontario, including Toronto, London, Ottawa and Hamilton, while also offering connections between Ontario’s capital and several western cities. New York State.

Several other services have entered the market in areas of southern Ontario since Greyhound ended Canadian intercity operations in 2021, including Megabus and Onex Bus, the latter also offering service to Pearson Airport from Kitchener.
