Gerard Butler Admits He ‘Almost Killed’ Hilary Swank On ‘PS I Love You’ Set

Gerard Butler has recalled the moment he “almost killed” Hilary Swank on the ‘PS I Love You’ set in 2007.

Butler said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Tuesday that Swank was injured while working on a scene in which he danced “like an idiot” in his boxers and a pair of suspenders.

While Butler’s character, Gerry Kennedy, was supposed to be punched in the face with a garter belt as he undressed, the metal tether instead “cut off” Swank’s head.

“He [got] stuck, he releases[d] and [flew] over my head,” the 53-year-old actor explained. “I opened it. You could even see the teeth [of the clip]. She had to be taken to hospital. »

Butler called the prop “so dangerous”, noting that the film crew “had plastic faceplates to protect against” the flying metal.
