Gisele Bündchen isn’t just healing from her divorce from Tom Brady.
As the model was going through the end of their 13-year marriage last fall, she was also dealing with two ailing parents.
“It was very hard for my family. It’s been a lot of things — in every area of my life,” she told People in an interview published Monday.
“I feel like every time it rains, it pours. With all the twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is do the best we can given what is happening in our environment.
Bündchen – who officially left Brady in October 2022 following an “epic fight” following his shocking decision to “not retire” from the NFL six months prior – did not provide details on the health status of his mother and father.
But she said she overcame those dark days by prioritizing exercise “every time.” Single day”, good nutrition, meditation and time spent outdoors.
The 43-year-old Brazilian beauty – who was recently photographed looking completely jacked – told the magazine she enjoys walking, doing yoga and lifting weights.
“I think if I didn’t have all the different tools that I have to support me during these times, it would have been very difficult,” she admitted.
Part of Bündchen’s realization included a**lyzing how alcohol was affecting her body and mind, so she made the decision to stop drinking.
“Right after I turned 40, actually, I felt a huge difference between when I was drinking a gla*s of wine and when I wasn’t drinking the gla*s of wine,” she explained.
“It is socially accepted to have a gla*s of wine. And people even say, “Oh, it’s healthy for you.” Well, it’s not healthy for Me. If you want to ask of your body what I ask of my body, which is a lot, I can’t have all of those things (alcohol, caffeine) because they add up.
The mother-of-two said she became more “clear”, “lively” and “present” when she stopped drinking alcohol two years ago and started “sleeping a lot better” and had even started to “notice things”. [she] I hadn’t noticed it before.

Overall, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel is a big fan of self-care and rejects the idea that it makes people — especially women — “selfish.”
“When you feel good, you are a better mom, you are a better friend, you are calmer, you are more patient, you are more loving, you are more grounded,” she maintained.
“No one will do it for you,” she made sure to note that it took effort to meet his needs.
“The only person who will make these choices is you. Because ultimately, you are the first person who will be impacted. But then, it’s your children, it’s your husband, it’s your family. You have to put on the oxygen mask first.
In the spring of 2020, Bündchen and her then-husband, 46, uprooted their family and moved from New England to Tampa Bay, Florida, for Brady’s final football seasons.
After separating, she and their children – son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10 – settled in Miami.
“I love the sun. Wherever the sun is, I always feel the happiest,” she said of her new home.
“I feel the sun, I swim in the ocean, I run on the sand and I feel the gra*s under my feet. Just being in nature gives you energy. It just makes you feel good.
Of all her achievements, the author of “Nourish” is most proud of her “loving,” “thoughtful,” and “considerate” children, who “become their own little selves” while preserving “their principles and values.”
Bündchen said Benny “just started” playing football and wears his father’s famous number 12, while Vivi joined the school swim team – although she is “obsessed” with the idea to become a professional rider.
Although she recently acquired a $9.1 million equestrian estate in South Florida, Bündchen told People that she won’t be granting her daughter’s wish to own a second horse anytime soon.
“I’m like, ‘You’re 10, calm down,'” the model joked.
Bündchen was careful to note that she remained close to Brady’s eldest, Jack, 16, whose mother is Bridget Moynahan.
