Colrys Velarion (Steve Toussaint) is dealing with the grief of losing his wife in the episode when Queen Targaryen sends Baella Targaryen (Bethany Antonia) to convince her to be the hand of the queen to move on.

According to ‘Fire and Blood’, she would eventually agree to become the Hand of the Queen and this would be a major turning point in the war as a veteran of many battles would launch an all-out assault on King’s Landing. For the queen and take Rahenira to the top.

Honoring the skull of a dead dragon

In the background of a conversation between Rhaenya Targaryen and Myseria (Sonoya Mizuno), we see the dragon Meraxes’ head held in reverence in the background.

The shot comes after Kristen Cole (Fabian Frankel) parades the slain dragon Melis through the streets of King’s Landing, drawing the ire of the little people who think the dragon is a god.

Dead dragons should be honored and respected, and Melee’s treatment may lead to the downfall of the Greens.

Keeping Alicent out of the war

Kristen Cole Votes for Emond Targaryen in ‘House of the Dragons’ (@hbo)

Kristen Cole voted against Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and chose Amond Targaryen as Prince Regent. His reasoning behind doing this is to spare Alicent from all the destruction that follows.

In ‘Fire and Blood’, this comes true as Alicent’s involvement with war diminishes when she loses all her children in the war. He outlived all his children and survived the war only to eventually die of winter fever.

Little people rarely get to eat on ‘House of the Dragon’ (@hbo).

The episode makes a huge comparison between the food eaten by the royals and the little people. Royals like Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) have plenty of options to eat while the little people barely get anything to eat.

The frustrations of the little people would become a huge factor in the fall of King’s Landing when the queens became queens and later when the Targaryen kingdom fell as well.

Airy

We see Aerye and Lady Jayne Arryn (Amanda Collin) who plays host to Rhea Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) on the show. Airy plays a major role in the show and in ‘Game of Thrones’.

In the world of George RR Martin, the location of the Eyrie plays an important role where Robert Baratheon met Eddard Stark when they were both young and became friends. Later they would lead a massive rebellion.
