Ice-T apparently reacts to backlash over daughter’s playful twerking video
Ice-T fends off haters amid backlash over a playful Christmas video of his 7-year-old daughter Chanel twerking.
“My advice is you go into 2023 with THIS attitude if you want to WIN,” the rapper and “Law & Order: SVU” star, 64, captioned an Instagram upload on Monday.
“Everyone’s gonna hate you anyway,” the message read, “so might as well give them a reason.”
Hours earlier the same day, Ice-T’s wife, Coco Austin, posted Chanel’s controversial footage on Instagram, telling her followers that the freshman “loves to joke around.”
In the celebratory video, the little one crushed the shoot of her adult family members to show off her own dance moves.
“Gotta love family time,” the 43-year-old model wrote. “Chanel runs in the middle to make a move to make us laugh.”
Austin later clarified in a comment that his child was making fun of a “Bob’s Burgers” character named Tina Belcher.
While many social media users linked to the Adult Swim show and praised the little one’s impersonation, others criticized her mother for sharing it.
“First time I disagreed with you,” wrote one follower, while another added, “Not at all pretty 😮.”
Austin and Ice-T, who wed in 2002, have both repeatedly applauded the parental police since welcoming their daughter in 2015, defending everything from breastfeeding to stroller use.
The dancer broke down in tears in November as she told Tamron Hall about the hate she receives online.
“I’m under a microscope all the time, and you don’t hear what you’re doing right,” she explained. “You don’t hear goodness, you just hear a lot of bad.”
Austin noted that she had “put everything aside” for Chanel, adding, “[I] want some respect from people.
Ice-T made a virtual appearance at the time, calling his wife “the best Chanel mother you could imagine.”
