Israel Adesanya Gives Bradley Martin A Reality Check For Insulting Demetrius Johnson

Bodybuilder and social media personality Bradley Martin was the subject of discussion between Israel Adesanya and Demetrius Johnson. Mixed martial artists belittle Martin’s callout to MMA fighters for street fights. They believe he does it only for power.

Johnson and Martin have fallen back in the past just as Martin has with several other fighters. Speaking about the social media personality on his podcast, Johnson said, “I see Bradley Martin as a gentleman who’s looking for influence and he’s saying these things.”

Adesanya, on the other hand, was much more brutal in his a*sessment. The former UFC middleweight champion claims he also had a run-in with Martin at Jake Paul’s house. “There’s a ring in the back yard and I got a message from someone saying, ‘Oh, this guy’s trying to get Izzy in the ring’ and I said, ‘No, I’m here to have fun, I’m not doing any of that’. On his podcast and on social media, Bradley Martin claims he can take trained fighters and beat them in a street fight. He claimed he could beat boxer Devin Haney in a street fight. Later, during a podcast, Nate Diaz joined Martin and the bodybuilder claimed he could beat Diaz in a street fight. Diaz instantly shot down Martin’s hopes as the former UFC fighter claimed Martin couldn’t beat him in a street fight.

During another podcast with Brendan Schaub, Martin was told that the DJ could beat him. Martin couldn’t believe it and claimed he would crush the former UFC flyweight champion. Johnson responded to Martin and it looked like a fight between the two was on the cards but nothing materialized.

Several UFC fighters, in turn, called out Martin to explain that trained fighters are different from bodybuilders. Kelvin Gastelum, Sean Strickland, Sean O’Malley and even Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson made their feelings known to Martin. WWE fighter Logan Paul was also frustrated by Martin’s actions and called him out for a match.

Adesanya mentions how DJ recently defeated a fighter much bigger than him during a BJJ competition. BJJ heavyweight champion Michael Sante Medina, a 248-pound 6-foot-3, pegged DJ at 155 pounds 5-foot-3 in an open-weight tournament at the 2024 Pan IBJJF Championship. Against all odds, Johnson defeated the heavyweight fighter.

Adesanya congratulated Johnson on the win. He mentioned DJ’s battle during their discussion about Bradley Martin saying that DJ, a trained fighter, took down another trained BJJ fighter who was much bigger than him so Martin shouldn’t have to work hard.

Furthermore, Adesanya also noted that if Johnson was taller than 6 feet, it could have been over for everyone in the fight game. Johnson, dubbed by many as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, lacks height but is still one of the best competitors around.
