Johnny Depp has reportedly shut down ‘malicious’ rumors that he is dating Jenna Ortega.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star has refuted speculation that he has “any personal or professional relationship with Ms Ortega”, according to the Daily Mail.
“He has never met or spoken to her,” the 60-year-old actor’s spokesperson wrote in a statement on Saturday. “He is not involved in any project with her and he does not intend to be.
“He is appalled by these unfounded and malicious rumors which are intended to damage his reputation and career,” Depp’s spokesperson concluded.
The outlet also claimed Ortega, 20, responded to the “ridiculous” claims on his social media account.
“I can’t even laugh,” the “Wednesday” actress reportedly wrote on her Instagram Story in a since-deleted post.
“I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life,” she continued. “Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”
Page Six contacted representatives for Ortega and Depp but did not immediately receive a response.
The rumors began after gossip blog Deuxmoi published that Depp and Ortega had been spotted and possibly working together on “Beetlejuice 2,” which is slated for release next fall.
The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star recently made headlines for his romance with Joelle Rich, a London-based lawyer who represented the actor in his 2020 defamation case against the Sun.

A close source told US Weekly last year that Rich was married when she and Depp started dating, but was in the process of divorcing her husband.
The Oscar nominee and A-list attorney split in October 2022.
Prior to that, Depp was married to Amber Heard from 2015 to 2017. Last year he won a libel suit against the Aquaman star, claiming the 37-year-old lied about his abuse.
Heard was ordered to pay her ex-husband $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages. The jury also awarded the actress $2 million in damages for her countersuit against Depp.
Ortega, on the other hand, has been romantically involved with singer Jacob Sartorius and “Andi Mack” alum Asher Angel over the years.
