Kevin Costner’s ex vows to ‘enter the workforce’ after child support cut
Kevin Costner’s ex-wife Christine Baumgartner says she will continue her education and find a job after losing her child support offer.
The former designer appeared in a Santa Barbara courtroom Thursday alongside her ex to discuss how they would both move forward after the divorce.
“I’m going to look at the steps I need to take and the education I need to take, and I’ll enter the job market,” Baumgartner said, according to People.
As for Costner, he is more concerned about his three children whom he shares with the model as he admitted his “world has been turned upside down a bit”.
“I have to fulfill obligations that are already in place, I have a lot of responsibilities that I have to take care of,” the ‘Yellowstone’ star said.
“I have to figure out how I’m going to spend more time with the children and accompany them through this process. »
The actor also admitted that he needed to take “time” for himself.
“I have a lot to think about – what to do versus what I want to do,” he said.
The actor, 68, added that he will also focus on his career while working on the ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ project in which he is deeply invested. He called the series a “very big risk”.

Meanwhile, on Friday, a judge ruled in favor of “The Bodyguard” star and paid her ex $63,209 a month in child support, instead of Baumgartner’s request for $161,592.
Baumgartner, 49, made the offer at a high price, saying she wanted her three children – Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13 – to “enjoy the same lifestyle” while staying with her.
She insisted to the court that the designated amount “must allow the children to receive support at a level commensurate with Kevin’s considerable wealth, even if that level of support also improves”. [my] standard of living.”
The amount would eventually fund a luxury vacation with the kids, similar to what the actor will take them to, and a home resembling his $145 million mansion, according to Baumgartner’s lawyers.
But Costner previously denounced Baumgartner’s plea for extra money, alleging she would use it to fund her own desires, including cosmetic surgery.
And while the mother-of-three lost her fight for more money, she recently bought a rental home in Montecito, Calif., for $40,000 a month.
However, she thinks the four-bedroom estate with pool and hot tub is no match for Costner’s waterfront estate.
During her testimony in court on Friday, the former handbag designer complained that the property was insufficient to accommodate guests staying at her pool house as they “would have to enter [to the main house] to use the shower,” according to Daily Mail.
She added that her two sons should share a bathroom while her daughter should share “with the house”.
Baumgartner, who married Costner in 2004, filed for divorce in May.
And while discussing “irreconcilable differences,” the “Field of Dreams” actor claimed he was still in love with his ex.
“It’s a horrible place, but that’s where we are,” he told Access Hollywood on Friday. “It hurts so much. We’re talking about someone I love on the other side. I just can’t.
