Leslie Jones reveals she had 3 abortions in her mid-20s: ‘she would do the same thing’ to this day
Leslie Jones reveals in her recently released memoir, “Leslie F-king Jones,” that she terminated three pregnancies when she was younger.
“All I felt was the urgency of not being pregnant,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum wrote. “So I had an abortion and it was very hard. »
She continues: “I don’t want to say it was wrong, because to this day I would do the same thing.”
Jones, now 56, says the first time she had an abortion was when she was 18 and dating a man named Richard Brooks, who was 27 at the time.
Their on-and-off relationship lasted “too many years” and they did not use birth control, according to the book.
“My mother got sick very early in my life and she wasn’t there to teach me [sex education]” Jones writes, noting that her mother suffered a serious stroke when she was growing up and never recovered.
The “Supermarket Sweep” host writes that she wishes she had been properly informed about pregnancy prevention and admits that she “just didn’t know any of this.”
