Lip readers have revealed Kate Middleton’s sweet reaction to a standing ovation at Wimbledon amid a cancer battle

Kate Middleton received a standing ovation at Sunday’s Wimbledon tennis championships – and a lip reader has revealed her sweet reaction.

The Princess of Wales, 42, welcomed the annual Grand Slam as she continues cancer treatment following her diagnosis in March.

She delighted fans as she arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis Club with her 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister Pippa Middleton.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman analyzes the moment Princess Catherine took her seat next to her daughter as Center Court erupted in applause and cheers.

Middleton told Charlotte to “come here” as the pair took their seats, Freeman told The Sun.

He then thanked the lady who accompanied them in the royal box, before turning to the crowd to give a big wave.

The royal then said “Hi” to fellow onlookers, before turning to the lady next to her and calling the audience’s reaction to her appearance “so sweet”.

After the match, in which Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets, Princess Catherine presented the trophies to the defending champion and runner-up.

He shook hands with both players before handing them their hard-earned rewards.

His visit comes a month after he joined the royal family to celebrate King Charles’ birthday on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at the Trooping the Color ceremony.

The princess joined some Hollywood royalty in the royal box during Sunday’s match-up.

Actress Julia Roberts and her cinematographer husband Danny Moder and actors Tom Cruise and Benedict Cumberbatch were seen sitting close to the royal.

As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the future Queen – a tennis fan in her own right – has tried to attend the tournament every year and can often be seen watching matches from the royal box on Center Court.

In previous years, Middleton attended the men’s and women’s finals and presented the winners and runners-up with their trophies.

As well as showing his support for the annual championship, her husband Prince William headed to Berlin, Germany to cheer on the England men’s football team in their match-up against Spain in the final of the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship.

The Prince of Wales, 42, who is president of the Football Association, football’s governing body in England, also brought Prince George into the sport.
