‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3: Why Kareem Moore May Have a Target on His Back Ahead of Finale
Spoilers ahead for ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3
Lansing, Michigan: In ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 2, Kareem Moore (Michael Beach) resigns as interim warden after a prison riot. By season 3, he officially becomes the warden, now responsible for overseeing the entire prison.
However, he increasingly refuses to cooperate with Mike McClusky (Jeremy Renner) in his efforts to keep the peace in Kingstown.
Kareem’s negligence and arrogance may have significant consequences in ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3.
Additionally, if Karim prioritizes his authority over effective cooperation, it may undermine efforts to maintain stability inside and outside the prison, leading to chaos in Kingstown.

As ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 unfolds, the relationship between Mike and Karim takes a dramatic turn, highlighting their increasingly glaring differences.
While Mike tries to maintain peace and order through strategic alliances and diplomatic efforts, Karim is more determined to solve problems independently.
In ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 2, Big Hush (Jock McKissick) suddenly becomes ill, showing symptoms such as foaming at the mouth, excruciating pain and eventually dying while vomiting white matter.
Later it was found that drugs were the cause of death. It raises the question: How did drugs come to prison?
Despite his position as warden and responsibility to maintain security and prohibit entry to the prison, drugs still managed to infiltrate the facility under Karim’s watch.
The situation highlights possible negligence or lapses in prison security under Karim’s supervision.
When Aryan Brotherhood leader Merle Callahan (Richard Brake) arrives at Kingstown Prison, Karim doesn’t even inform Mike.
This delay in letting Mike know about Merle’s presence highlights his diminished influence over Kingstown affairs.
If Karim and Mike had worked together, they could have prevented the chaos caused by the bombing outside the Kingstown Police Department, where Mike later meets Merle.

When Mike learns of Marle’s arrival, he warns Karim to be careful, stressing the importance of careful handling. However, Karim’s pride seemed to prevent him from following this advice.
In ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 3, when Mike meets with Ian Ferguson (Hugh Dillon), Karim suddenly enters and challenges Mike’s presence, insisting that Mike should not be part of the Kingstown Police Department.
Karim dismissed Mike’s unofficial role as mayor, believing it should have no real power, and therefore excluded Mike from key decisions.
However, Karim fails to realize that involving Mike could be beneficial in keeping the peace in the prison.
The animosity between Kareem and Mike, fueled by their differing approaches and Kareem’s reluctance to cooperate, creates an untenable situation. Now, Merle can exploit the tension between Kareem and Mike.

It is revealed that a new prison guard, Kevin Jackson (Danny Love), a new prison guard whom Karim is mentoring, is acting as an informant for Bunny Washington (Toby Bamtefa).
This guard went to eliminate the woman responsible for smuggling tainted drugs into the prison.
Karim remains unaware of this betrayal, as his attention is distracted by the increasing pressures of his role as warden.
This confusion further complicates his ability to maintain control and security at Kingstown Prison, leaving him vulnerable to unexpected betrayals and internal threats.
As tensions between the Aryan Brotherhood and the Crips reach a critical point, Karim finds himself deeply involved in the growing conflict within the prison.
If this tension leads to another riot like the one in ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 1, Karim may find himself a target because of his important role in maintaining order and security.
Merle emerges as a significant figure in the growing conflict within the prison. His influence and actions play an important role in fueling the ongoing war.
If heated tensions escalate into another outbreak, Karim’s leadership and personal security hang in the balance.
