Meryl Streep and Martin Short have dinner together after denying dating rumors

Meryl Streep and Martin Short were photographed leaving dinner together on Wednesday night after denying speculation they were dating.
The ‘Only Murders in the Building’ stars enjoyed a meal with a group of friends at trendy Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.
Rumors have circulated for weeks that Streep, 74, and Short, 73, are an item.
However, “Saturday Night Live” shut down the conversation during an episode of the “Club Random with Bill Maher” podcast last month.
“We’re not a couple. We’re just very close friends,” he insisted.
Even “OMITB” co-star Jackie Hoffman recently told Page Six that she doesn’t think the two are dating.
“I saw Platonic Chemistry, but I never thought for a second,” she said. “I think they were such good actors that everyone believed them because they wanted to believe it.”
“He’s always on,” Hoffman added with a laugh, “and I can’t imagine her putting up with that!”
Streep and Short first sparked romance speculation after looking friendly at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

Last October, Page Six exclusively reported that “Mamma Mia!” The star and her sculptor husband Don Gummer secretly split more than six years ago after 40 years of marriage.
The former couple have four children: singer Henry Wolfe, 44, and actresses Mamie Gummer, 40, Grace Gummer, 37, and Louisa Jacobson, 32.
Meanwhile, Short was married to actress Nancy Dolman from 1980 until her death in 2010 from ovarian cancer.
They had three children together: Catherine Elizabeth Short, 40, Oliver Patrick Short, 37, and Henry Hayter Short, 34.
