Ali Kadyrov picked up his first professional MMA victory on the ACA 150 card in what fans called a clearly set fight.
The 15-year-old is the son of Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov who also owns the promotion the fight took place on.
Kadyrov had Chechnya-born and UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev in his corner for the fight which got his hand raised after the decision was announced.
After taking on Islam Akbarov, Kadyrov landed a jab that sent his opponent to the canvas.
Standing above his dejected opponent, the teenager landed soft strikes that didn’t seem to connect in a major way.
Despite the limited force of the blows, which Akbarov defended well on his back, the referee had seen enough and intervened to stop the fight.
Fans just couldn’t believe what they were seeing. From the replays, it’s hard to tell the fight is anything but set in stone.
Before his professional debut, Kadyrov trained with Chimaev and former UFC champion Cody Garbrandt.
Chimaev congratulated the teenager on social media, uploading a photo of him with his hands raised in victory and saying he “showed great fighting skills”.
We don’t know what skills Chimaev is talking about, as the fight above didn’t feature any.
Ramzan has been sanctioned by the United States government for a wide range of human rights abuses and more recently has been sanctioned further for his role in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
