Montreal home sales are up 4 per cent in August from a year ago – Montreal
The Professional Association of Quebec Real Estate Brokers says home sales in Montreal rose 4 per cent in August compared to the same month last year.
The a*sociation says sales in the region totaled 2,753 for the month, up from 2,652 a year ago.
It says the rise came as prices held near their 2022 peak, largely recouping ground lost in the second half of last year.
The median price for a single-family home was $561,000, up seven per cent from a year ago, while the median price for a condo was $393,000, up two per cent. The median price for a plex was $720,000, up 3% from last year.
Active registrations totaled 15,159, up 14 percent from 13,293 a year ago.
New listings for the month fell 4 per cent to 4,864 from 5,089 for the same month last year.
