Nutritionist Kelly Ripa breaks down what the ‘Live’ co-host eats in a day
Kelly Ripa’s nutritionist revealed the healthy diet that keeps the ‘Live’ co-host strong and active throughout the day — and it includes non-stop snacking.
“I’ve never met a busier person than Kelly. She’s supermom. She’s amazing on the show,” Dr. Daryl Giuffre told E! News Ripa, 53, said in an interview published Sunday.
“She works out seven days a week and maintains this amazing lifestyle I taught her.”
Giuffre shared that Ripa — who has three children with husband Mark Consuelos — is careful when it comes to her food choices.
“Every time you feel hungry or put something in your body, it should be something that strengthens you from the inside out,” the nutritionist said, stressing the importance of nutritious choices including vegetables and healthy fats. And fibre.
If this tactic sounds intimidating, Geoffrey recommends his clients add healthy foods to their daily diet rather than restricting certain ingredients from their personal menus.
“Just start with one thing, but master that thing, stick with that thing and do that thing consistently,” he suggested.
“When you feel good enough that it becomes part of your lifestyle, you do it regularly and automatically, and you don’t have to think about it,” he continued. “Then you add the next thing and then the next thing.”
For example, Geoffrey referred to adding green juice to his daily diet when he was struggling to eliminate sugar from his diet.
Ripa added several superfoods to her daily intake with the guidance of Giuffre’s expertise.
The morning show host starts her day with a gla*s of water mixed with a scoop of dried greens from Gioffre’s Alkamind brand. Geoffrey said green juice offers the same health benefits, but he cautioned against sugary versions and suggested using whole fruits like cucumbers for hydration and green apples and pears for natural sweetness.
“You have to eat your vegetables,” the health expert said. “But when you get it in the form of a green smoothie, what happens is you get all those nutrients in the vegetables and you get a huge amount of vegetables in just 8-ounce servings.”
Ripa then enjoys a cup of coffee infused with gra*s-fed butter and Gioffre’s Acid-Kicking Coffee and won’t consume any food until after the show is over.
Jeffrey said Ripa will snack on mashed green apples, a few tablespoons of almond butter, and a teaspoon of cinnamon once filming is over.
He revealed that she eats large snacks, even though she eats healthy options throughout the day.
“Instead of snacking on something unhealthy, she’s always prepared,” Giuffre said, explaining that Ripa snacks on raw nuts throughout the day. “And that’s the big motto: ‘Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.’”
For lunch, Ripa enjoys a salad topped with microgreens, sprouts, avocado, and raw nuts, while dinner is almost a variation of that with extra protein.
“You’ll add some steamed vegetables or some stir-fried vegetables or some grilled vegetables,” Geoffrey said. “And she likes to eat vegetables that are in season because they’re better for you. And then she’ll have protein, and it could be grilled tofu or tahini or some fish protein.”
Ripa’s favorite dessert is the author’s “Get Off Your Sugar” recipe for avocado chocolate mousse — made with avocado, pure vanilla extract, raw cacao, dates, and sea salt — or her fiber-packed chocolate chia pudding ca*serole.
The “All My Children” alum ends the evening with a cup of Giuffre’s Acid Detox Tea infused with turmeric, ginger, lemon, and black pepper.
“It’s not about deprivation,” he explained about Ripa’s diet. “It’s about moderation.”

Ripa’s aggressive nutrition plan coupled with an active lifestyle is how she maintains her rock-solid figure.
“I’ve never been a va-va-voom woman.” I like to take AKT cla*ses — which are cardio-based dance cla*ses — about four to five days a week between 3 and 5 p.m. And I like to do SoulCycle on the weekends,” she told The Cut in 2019 about her exercise preferences.
“In the summer, I like to run in Central Park because I think it’s so cool.”
Ripa’s hard work is definitely paying off, as Consuelos, 52, has a history of proudly showing off his wife’s fit frame on social media.
