OJ Simpson Reportedly Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer As He Denies Hospice Rumors

OJ Simpson has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy, Las Vegas Local 10 News reported Friday.

The news came amid rumors he was in a hospice, which the disgraced football star closed. via X Friday morning.

“Hospice! Are you talking about hospice? Simpson, 76, asked laughing in a video taken inside his car.

“No, I’m not even in the hospital. I don’t know who posted this.

He then added that he was preparing to host “a ton of friends” for a Super Bowl LVIII viewing party on Sunday.

“Everything’s okay, you know?” » he continued with a smile. “Take care. Have a great Super Bowl weekend!

The report on Simpson’s condition was released more than 8 months after he revealed on X that he had cancer and COVID-19 at the same time.

He also said he underwent chemotherapy treatments and that smoking marijuana “really helped” him through the process.

“Anyway, I’m really healthy now. Looks like I beat him,” he happily confirmed in his social media video from the time.

It’s unclear whether Friday’s report refers to a new cancer diagnosis or the cancer he spoke about in May.

Simpson is residing in a gated community in Las Vegas after being granted early parole in December 2022 after being convicted of armed robbery in the city.

He was paroled in 2017 after serving nine years at the Lovelock Correctional Facility in Nevada.

The nine years he spent behind bars were part of a much longer 33-year sentence for an armed robbery of sports memorabilia from dealers in 2007.

Of course, the Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee is best known for being acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

In 2019, he called her murder the “worst day” of his life while speaking with The Associated Press, and said he lived each day focusing “on the positives.”

He was also delighted with the reception the Las Vegas community gave him.

“The city has been good to me,” he said.

“Everyone I meet seems to apologize for what happened to me here.”
