Olivia Jade Compares Luxury Dining to ‘Prison’ After Mom Lori Loughlin’s College Admissions Scandal

Olivia Jade Giannulli compared her luxurious kitchen to a prison after her mother, Lori Loughlin, served time over the infamous college admissions scandal.

The influencer took a look inside her Los Angeles home in a vlog uploaded Tuesday to her YouTube channel in which she discussed her plans to spruce up her decor.

“Back in the kitchen. Sorry for the mess behind me, the kitchen needs cleaning,” she said in the video. “I’m so excited guys, I finally ordered some wallpaper for the kitchen so it won’t look so barren.”

“It won’t look like…a prison,” the 24-year-old continued before stopping for a second and looking at the camera, realizing the irony of her comment.

“Keep the jokes. I don’t want to hear it. I trapped you and I don’t want you to leave. ALL RIGHT?”

In 2019, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Gianulli were exposed for paying $500,000 to get Olivia and her sister, Isabella Rose, admitted to the University of Southern California under the guise of being online recruits.

A year later, the couple pleaded guilty and Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison, while Mossimo was sentenced to five months.

They were also forced to pay a total of $400,000 as part of their sentence.

At the time, the corruption scandal led Olivia – active on YouTube since 2014 – to remain silent on the radio as her parents appeared in court.

She later broke her silence on Facebook Watch’s “Red Table Talk,” telling host Jada Pinkett Smith that she was not fully aware of the scheme.

“I felt so ashamed and embarra*sed… even though I didn’t really understand 100% what had just happened because there were a lot of things that, when I was applying, I wasn’t fully aware of about what was happening,” she said in December 2020.

“When I came home [from spring break]I was so ashamed.

Olivia added that she was “too embarra*sed” to return to school and confirmed that she had never taken part in rowing.

Another high-profile case in the college admissions scandal involved “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman.
