summary
- Paul George was questioned about being considered the GOAT by Matt Burns.
- George expressed his gratitude for stars like Brandon Miller seeing him in that light.
Paul George was recently asked about his thoughts on being considered one of the greatest players of all time. As the majority of NBA fans will be aware, PG is a veteran star currently playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. He also hosts a podcast and recently featured former NBA star Matt Barnes for an episode.
On their most recent episode of “Podcast P,” Barnes questioned George about his feelings when so many young basketball stars hold him to the same standards as Michael Jordan or LeBron James. Since many NBA fans don’t even know about these views, the situation needs to be looked at closely
Paul George never considered himself an NBA Goth
Every player who enters the NBA and establishes himself as the face of a franchise and a certified star has the right to believe in his own greatness. Paul George did just that during his time with the Indiana Pacers and even went so far with LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
Fans who have seen PG in action will agree that he is one of the most accomplished players of the modern era. There are very few NBA stars his size who can handle the ball or control the pace of the game. George was questioned by Matt Barnes about his thinking as many young upcoming basketball stars consider him their GOAT.
“Honestly bro it’s a blessing because I never approached the game…I always felt like I was chasing somebody. I was trying to chase and be like Kobe, be like T-Mac. Those are the guys that I looked up to…now I hear these stories that kids have the same vision as me because I mean let’s be honest, it could be Bron it could be KD all these guys could be like them my goat I just felt like I always tried to play the game the right way.“
George said,I have always tried to play both sides. I never credit…you know my shots can come and go. There’s been a lot of nights when I’ve been horrible off the field but I’ve never let it affect the way I’m going to play the game and I feel like that’s what resonates with the kids… so I’ve gotten more out of it than anything else.”
The Clippers star certainly seems to humbly accept others’ recognition of himself. Since most fans consider LeBron or MJ to be the GOAT, one must wonder which players really hold PG to the same standards.
Brandon Miller and Kean Anthony hold down PG over LeBron James or Michael Jordan
As Paul George discussed his feelings about being considered a GOAT, he noted that Charlotte Hornets star Brandon Miller is a young star who holds him on the same level as Michael Jordan or LeBron James. After all, Miller has made his support for PG quite clear.
Kean Anthony is the son of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony. Even Kian opined that PG is his GOAT. Because George plays the game the right way and is known as an elite two-way player, fans will surely understand why he is widely admired by the upcoming generation of players. Hopefully, Paul George will be able to make them all proud by helping the Clippers win an NBA title in the near future.
