The search continues for an elderly person who may have wandered along a trail during Wednesday’s snowstorm east of Lindsay, Ont.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Department, at around 3:40 p.m. officers responded to a request for a wellness check from an elderly man walking on the Trans Canada Trail between Lilac Road and Peace Road to the east. of Lindsay near the hamlet of Réaboro.

The man was apparently wearing “inappropriate clothing” for the weather, including not wearing pants.

Police say due to severe winter weather, officers launched a search of the area, using the Peterborough Police Department’s canine and drone units as well as assistance from the Peterborough Police Response Team. OPP Central Region Emergency.

In an email sent at 7 p.m. Wednesday, police said the search was continuing. The man is described as 70 to 80 years old, tall and thin. He had a long beard and wore a brown work coat (Tough Duck or Carhartt), a knitted toque and wore no pants.

‘Police have not received any further calls of a male walking in the area,’ police said. “No missing person reports have been received.”
