Prince William takes ‘tough and firm’ stance on Prince Harry after royal row: He ‘commands respect’
Prince William has taken a “tough and firm” stance on his fractured relationship with estranged brother Prince Harry, according to a royal expert.
The Prince of Wales, 42, has not spoken to his younger brother for more than a year – and their already damaged bond was further strained with the publication of Harry’s bombshell memoir “Spare” in January 2023.
And William – the heir to the throne – has decided on the future of the pair’s relationship, according to royal commentator Jenny Bond.
“William has always been a strong character,” Bond said right! magazine.
“I think her broken childhood made her tough and determined,” she continued. “He now has a reputation for being stubborn and once his mind is made up he sticks to his decision.”
Bond suggested that William – who is two years older than Harry – has become a “promoter” of the firm since the deaths of their grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
“He is definitely someone who commands respect in the family and whose views carry considerable influence,” she said of the father of three.
“Obviously, as the heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it’s true that he was prepared to take a hard line on a number of issues, including [Princes] Andrew and Harry.”
Bond’s comments echoed royal expert Hilary Fordwich, who claimed William had “banned” his estranged brother from returning to the royal fold.
“It is widely known within the family that Prince William has placed a complete ban on Harry returning to his former royal family in any way, shape or form,” she told Fox News.
“If anyone is disappointed, it will be King Charles, who, of course, will not be challenged by Prince William, who still misses his ‘favorite son’ and wants to see more of Prince Harry.”
“However, to this day, after the release of ‘Spare’ and the Netflix series, as well as what Harry has said, done and not done, it is Prince William who refuses to even speak to his brother,” she added.
