Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting a second child
The royal family is about to grow!
Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their second child, Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday.
The couple, who are already parents to almost 2-year-old son August, will welcome their new arrival this summer.
“Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child this summer,” the palace said in a statement.
“The family is thrilled and August can’t wait to be a big brother.”
Announcing the news on her own Instagram account, Eugenie posted a photo of her son kissing her belly.
“We are thrilled to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” she captioned the snap.
The baby will be the 13th to the British throne and the third grandchild of Eugenie’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
In addition to August, Prince Andrew and Ferguson are also grandparents to Princess Beatrice’s young daughter Sienna, who was born in September 2021.
Eugenie, 32, welcomed her first child with husband Jack, 36, in February 2021. The couple married in October 2018, 9 months after Jack popped the question.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie safely gave birth to a son today, 9 February 2021,” read the official statement from the palace at the time. “The baby weighs 8 pounds. 1 oz.
The Princess has included a subtle tribute to her late grandfather, Prince Philip, in her son’s full name: August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
