Rose McGowan, ‘Charmed’ Cast Honors ‘Warrior’ Shannon Doherty After Her Death At 53

The cast of “Charmed” has lost one of their own.

Shannen Doherty died of cancer on Saturday at the age of 53, prompting many of her former co-stars to pay tribute to the late actress on social media.

Doherty starred as Prue Halliwell in the first three seasons of “Charmed” opposite Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs. She left the show after season 3 and was replaced by Rose McGowan.

Last year, Doherty and Combs, 50, claimed Milano fired Doherty from “Charmed.”

“We said [by Alyssa] It’s her or [Shannen] And Alyssa threatened to sue us for a hostile work environment,” Combs recalled on Doherty’s podcast.

Milano later denied those claims. “I didn’t have the power to fire anybody,” he said at MegaCon earlier this year.

A week before Doherty’s death, a “Charmed” Rewatch podcast, called “The House of Halliwell”, was announced with Doherty as one of the co-hosts of Combs, Brian Krause and Drew Fuller.

The first episode was released on July 8.

After Doherty’s death, her former “Charmed” co-stars remembered the actress with heartfelt statements on social media.

Rose McGowan

McGowan, 50, paid tribute to Doherty in an Instagram comment on Sunday.

“A true lion heart. What a warrior,” McGowan wrote, according to Us Weekly.

“Your father now holds his best daughter. Love to your mom, your dog and everyone who loves you dearly,” he added.

A month ago, McGowan showed love to Doherty in a comment on one of Doherty’s podcast clips on Instagram. Doherty watched her father become ill before his death in 2010.

“Such a raw conversation. Can’t we stop missing them?” McGowan commented on the video. “It’s like life before and life after. A wonderful loss. I miss my father very much. Embrace all of us except them on earth.”

Doherty wrote back to McGowan, “Hugs to you Rose.”

Alyssa Milano

Despite their feud, Milano, 51, shared a meaningful statement about Doherty after his death.

“It’s no secret that Shannon and I had a complicated relationship, but at the core of it was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of,” Milano, 51, said in a statement to the Post.

He added, “She was a talented actress, loved by many and the world is not the same without her. My condolences to those who loved him.”

Brian Krause

Krause, who plays Leo Wyatt on the show, honored Doherty on Instagram.

“You showed me what strength is. You taught me to be fearless and live with purpose. To know your worth and stick to your resolve. Love forever! Really heartbreaking 😔,” wrote the 55-year-old actor.

Ted King

Ted King, who portrays Doherty’s love interest, Andy Trudeau, also shared an emotional tribute.

“We have created a special television couple for the ages. My heart goes out to your family. Rest in peace Shanen, rest in peace,” King’s post said.
