Saskatchewan Financial Authority Warns Against Unregistered Cryptocurrency Investors

Potential cryptocurrency scams have emerged in the province, according to the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA).

Online entities TitanTrader and Coins Capital offer various opportunities to invest in cryptocurrency trading, leverage and commodities.

The FCAA said neither is registered to trade or sell securities or derivatives in the province.

“If a company is not registered, don’t do business with them,” said Dean Murrison of the FCAA. “The registration process has one goal: to protect Saskatchewan investors. Make sure your money is safe by always checking the registration status before investing.

TitanTrader operates through the website and Coins Capital uses

If you have invested in either company or anyone purporting to act on its behalf, contact the FCAA Securities Division at 306-787-5936.

The authority said residents should always ensure a business is registered to sell before committing, know what they are investing in, seek professional advice and not let anyone have remote access to a home computer.
