Secret Meatpacking District Hearsay nightclub to make NYFW debut
It wouldn’t be New York Fashion Week without a new post-show model club.
Italian hospitality gurus Matteo Garzia and BCD’s Alessandro Brioschi are teaming up with nightlife veteran Richie Romero and Brooklyn-based Teksupport founder Rob Toma to open their first nightclub in the United States.
Hearsay, the Meatpacking District spot, will make its big debut over Labor Day weekend, just in time for this month’s NYFW. But the address is kept secret, we are told.
They hope to create buzz around the club through word of mouth. And with former Meatpacking hotspots like 1Oak, Provocateur, Cielo and Lotus all now defunct, Romero says, “I believe Matteo and Alessandro have this distinct pa*sion for throwing the right parties in the right circles to give waking up to the now-sleepy Meatpacking District. call it deserve.
EMRG Media will be handling private events at the club and we’re told Hearsay will debut with “a series of invitation-only DJ sets” over Labor Day weekend, as well as “private events…during the Fashion Week”.
“The new club, complete with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, will bring together the best in the world [DJs in] house and techno return to the Big Apple every night. Guests won’t know who’s playing Hearsay until they walk through the door,” co-owner Toma said.
Romero is looking forward to bringing life back to this declining neighborhood which, he says, “has been the nightlife district for more than two decades.”
“Now the streets are quiet and there really isn’t much nightlife, and we’re here to change that. There’s a juicy rumor floating around in the air now, meanwhile it’s just hearsay,” he joked.
We are told that VIPs will be picked up in a Sprinter and taken to the secret location of the club opening.
