‘Shameful’ Shannon Beador Enters Counseling After Drunk Driving Arrest: Jeff Lewis

Jeff Lewis revealed his close friend Shannon Beador was seeking treatment after she was arrested for drunk driving and hit-and-run early Sunday.

“I’m happy to say she’s going into counseling this week, so I’m happy about that,” Lewis said on Monday’s episode of his SiriusXM show, “Jeff Lewis Live.”

The “Flipping Out” star explained that Beador called him after the incident and told him she “accepted full responsibility” and was “ashamed” and “embarra*sed.”

“I don’t think Shannon is an alcoholic,” he clarified. “I think as a close friend, I think she’s going through a lot of personal struggles right now, and I think she’s probably leaned into alcohol, but I don’t think she or an alcoholic.”

Lewis also confirmed that Beador was in “a car accident” that night and was “injured,” but that no one else was injured.

TMZ reported Monday that Beador destroyed a home in Newport Beach, Calif., and fled, but Lewis would not further confirm that she was “recovering” from an injury.

Lewis, 53, admitted he was “shocked” when he learned of his arrest because he had “never seen” Beador, 59, “ever drink and drive” during their friendship. several years.

“I’m not justifying it, I’m not condoning it, I’m just telling you what I know,” he stressed.

The radio personality also explained that Beador “obviously” won’t make her planned appearance on her radio show alongside her “The Real Housewives of Orange County” co-star Taylor Armstrong on Friday.

Shortly after TMZ broke the news of the arrest, fans noticed that Beador had been out with Armstrong, Lewis and her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Stuart O’Keeffe, over the weekend and wondered if the Beador’s arrest had taken place after this.

However, Lewis clarified that the evening with friends took place Friday evening and not Saturday.

“I invited Shannon on Saturday to go to Stu’s birthday at Abbey and Hi Top, uh, she said she was staying at home, but she ended up going out unfortunately,” he claimed , referring to two West Hollywood hotspots.

Lewis didn’t say where Beador went or who she hung out with, but he did confirm that her boyfriend, John Janssen, was present for Friday night’s shenanigans.

Police allegedly found Beador’s car parked in the middle of the street while she appeared to be intoxicated while walking her dog.

The Bravolebrity was later booked on two misdemeanor charges — hit-and-run and DUI — a Newport Beach police representative told TMZ.

Beador has yet to address the incident.
