Shannon Beador has slammed “inaccurate” claims she was drinking just days before her arrest for drunk driving and hit-and-run charges.
The “Real Housewives of Orange County” star defended herself in an interview with US Weekly on Wednesday after fellow castmate Tamra Judge accused her of being an alcoholic on the show and Gina Kirschenheiter claimed that “drinking “Drinking is a problem for everyone.”
“Let’s look at the other people on the show this season who have been drinking heavily,” Beador told the outlet during the joint sit-down with fellow Housewife Vicki Gunvalson.
Gunvalson, 61, also shared his opinion, saying: “The show, I hate to say it, encourages fun and drinking.”
She added: “When you’re filming seven hours a day and one [hour] an hour or a half, it’s noise at a high level, that’s what they’re going to show because it’s fun.
The interview came after Kirschenheiter, 39, claimed Beador’s drinking was a “huge problem” during an interview with US Weekly earlier this month.
“I don’t care if Shannon wants to say she has a drinking problem or not,” Kirschenheiter said. “I’m not here to judge anyone or diagnose anyone, but…his drinking is a problem for everyone.”

She also suggested that Beador needed professional help for his drinking during an episode of “RHOC” in August.
“Shannon says stupid things and then she wants to pretend she didn’t do it, and if you can say things that are so hurtful without even remembering that you said it, you need to go check it out. in rehab,” Kirschenheiter said in a confessional.
Beador, 59, was arrested for drunk driving and hit-and-run Saturday at 11:45 p.m. local time after allegedly crashing into a house in Newport Beach, California, and fleeing.
Sources tell TMZ that the reality star drove for a little while before parking her car in the middle of the street and walking out with her dog, Archie.
Police were called to the scene and took her into custody after realizing she was intoxicated.
According to the arrest report obtained by Page Six, the Bravolebrity was booked on two misdemeanor charges: DUI and hit-and-run.
Beador was released from jail early Sunday morning after posting her $2,500 bond.
“She is extremely sorry and remorseful,” her lawyer, Mike Fell, told us Monday. “We will await official information on this matter as soon as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”
Beador’s close friend Jeff Lewis also spoke out about the arrest, saying she was currently undergoing therapy.
“I’m happy to say she’s going into counseling this week, so I’m happy about that,” he said Monday on the episode of his SiriusXM show, “Jeff Lewis Live.”
“I think she’s going through a lot of personal difficulties right now, and I think she’s probably been dependent on alcohol, but I don’t believe she’s an alcoholic,” he added.
