Shannon Beador under investigation by animal control after driving drunk with dog Archie

Shannon Beador is still in the doghouse after her drunk driving arrest last weekend.

Page Six can exclusively reveal that the Newport Beach Police Department’s animal control unit is investigating the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star after she was found driving drunk with her dog, Archie , in the car.

A DPNB public information officer told us Friday that the senior officer in its animal control unit is “looking into the matter.”

“We don’t have animal endangerment laws like we do for children, but we do have animal cruelty laws, so he’s going to look at that a little more in depth,” he said. declared the sergeant. Steve Oberon adds.

According to a police report previously obtained by Page Six, Beador drove her vehicle drunk Saturday night and crashed into a nearby home, leaving behind chunks of concrete and debris from the damage to the home.

Sources previously told TMZ that Bravolebrity, 59, then parked her car and pretended to walk her dog before being approached by police.

Oberon now tells Page Six that Beador requested that Archie be “dropped off with someone to look after him while she dealt with his situation.”

The officer notes that the beloved golden retriever did not appear injured, so he was not taken to seek medical attention and, therefore, law enforcement respected his owner’s wishes.

Oberon did not reveal who Beador wanted to look after Archie while she was in custody. Her representative did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

However, a source tells Page Six exclusively that Archie was taken to Beador’s ex John Janssen’s house on Saturday night.

The ‘housewife’ leans on her ex-boyfriend for support after his arrest. They were seen entering an apartment together in Newport Beach, California on Tuesday.

The reality star – who, according to her friend Jeff Lewis, was very “ashamed” about the whole ordeal – apparently had her arm in a sling at the time.

A source close to Beador also tells Page Six that “Shannon has not been contacted by Animal Control” and that “Archie is doing well and is currently with Shannon.”

Oberon, for his part, emphasizes that he expects the investigation to end as soon as possible “if there is no injury, [the case] stops there. »

“[The dog] was never taken from him until his custody [goes]”, concludes the officer.

Beador and Archie have been through tough times before; the dog disappeared in October 2021.

Beador then made a tearful appeal for help finding his dog, telling his followers via Instagram: “So it’s after 4am and Archie, somehow, has gone missing.

“I don’t know what happened, but I’ve been screaming his name every two seconds for five hours, so if anyone here at Port Streets [Orange County] I saw my dog, we are devastated.

Nearly two years later, it seems Beador is ready to change her life and become more responsible.

She would seek treatment centers to control her alcohol consumption.
