Stoic Hugh Jackman walks with Ryan Reynolds after announcing his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness
Hugh Jackman is leaning on old pals as he goes through his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness.
The “X-Men” star was spotted strolling the streets of New York in the rain with Ryan Reynolds on Sunday.
Jackman wore a black raincoat with matching pants as he chatted with the “Deadpool” star. He complemented the practical cut with a white undershirt and black sneakers, noticeably without his wedding ring.
Reynolds dressed similarly, wearing a black zip-up raincoat with gray pants. He opted for white sneakers on their walk, tying them with blue and white polka dot socks and a baseball cap.
It’s unclear where the two friends were headed, but they appeared to be in deep conversation as they walked through town.
Reynolds, 46, and Jackman, 54, surely have plenty to talk about, as the “Greatest Showman” star announced Friday that he and Furness are separating after 27 years of marriage.
“We were fortunate to share nearly three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful and loving marriage,” the former couple said in a joint statement to People.
“Our journey is now changing and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. »
The two Australian actors married in 1996 after meeting the previous year on the set of the Australian television series “Correlli.”

They share two adopted children: Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 23, and Ava Eliot Jackman, 18.
An insider exclusively told Page Six last week that this split was “a long time coming.”
“It happened some time ago. Friends and family knew,” the source claimed, adding that rumors of trouble in their marriage began to surface when Furness, 67, was notably absent from Jackman’s rehearsals for “The Music Man” on Broadway.
Another source told us the split left Jackman “devastated,” which could be where his old pal Reynolds comes into play.
The stars of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” have had a friendship, coupled with a fake feud, for decades.
Both Reynolds and Jackman are known for lovingly bashing each other online, including Jackman’s latest stunt earlier this year.
In January, Jackman urged the Academy not to nominate Reynolds’ “Good Afternoon” for best song – a song featured in the musical “Spirited.”
“Now Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination for best song would make the next year of my life unbearable,” Jackman joked in a video. posted on Twitter.
Jackman also joked that if the song received a nomination (which it didn’t), it would make it “impossible” to collaborate with Reynolds on the upcoming “Deadpool 3” film.
