Taylor Swift, 16, was listening to the star when she died in a crash on her way to an Australia Eras show: report

An Australian fan, Taylor Swift, was listening to the star’s songs with her mother and younger sister during her 17-hour flight to see her perform live when they were involved in a horrific accident that left the teenager dead and her brother fighting for her life.

Mika Bockarier, 16, had her iPad open to her painstakingly created Taylor Swift playlist when their car collided with a truck in Dubbo, near Sydney, on their way from Queensland to the opening night of Swift’s “Eras” tour in Melbourne. According to the Daily Telegraph.

Boccarriere was pronounced dead at the scene, while her 10-year-old sister, Freya Boccariere, was airlifted to Westmead Hospital, where she remains in a medically induced coma and suffering from brain injuries, a broken leg and pelvic damage, the outlet reported. .

The girls’ mother, Kim Litchfield, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition.

“This road trip should have been a dream,” Carly PKB, Micah Bockarier’s godmother, told the Daily Telegraph.

“They’ve been talking about this since before they got tickets. They spent eight hours refreshing their screens hoping to get tickets and were thrilled to get tickets in both Melbourne and Sydney.

PKB revealed the trio were just 19 miles away from their overnight stay in Dubbo when the accident happened.

Buccarière was in the front seat at the time of the accident, according to 9News.

PKB added that Swiftie’s life has been customized for the billionaire singer, from releasing her songs non-stop to naming her cat Mr. Perfectly Fine, following a bonus track from 2021’s “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).”

However, the shy gymnast’s favorite album was “1989 (Taylor Version)” — which is played “repeatedly” inside Freya’s tiny hospital room, according to family friend Vern Burgertown, who started a GoFundMe for the family. The page contains more than 26,000 Australian dollars, or approximately 16,300 US dollars, for the stricken family.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Freya was excited to attend the party to update her merch collection, as she had outgrown her original T-shirts dating back to 1989.

While she is expected to remain in a coma for a few more days to give her body time to heal, her family and friends told her about all the merchandise they saw partygoers buying, according to Burgertown.

Burgertown said Freya is not out of the woods yet, with the little girl facing “risks of brain swelling and infection” that could be life-threatening.

The family friend added that the child had already undergone eight blood transfusions and was given blood products on her way to the hospital.

“The real work will of course begin when she is conscious and we will then see a lot of anxiety and distress from her and potential burnout for her caregivers, because this is the person our daughter wants most,” she wrote.

Litchfield, who has been released from the hospital, has been reunited with her younger daughter at the facility, where she, her husband and older daughter are also present.

The family are currently staying at Ronald McDonald House while Freya continues to make do with her home on the Gold Coast, more than 500 miles away.
