‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 7: Iris’ dark secret hangs over all the players

Spoilers ahead for ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3

Lansing, Michigan: ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 7 has been released on Paramount+ and it looks like Iris (Emma Laird) is about to face imminent danger.

As the episode unfolds, Iris finds herself caught in a web of escalating conflicts and dangerous situations. However, it turns out that Iris has been deeply affected by something from her past, causing her considerable pain in the present.

In ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3, Episode 7, a gruesome and gruesome job marks the beginning of the episode. The central focus is the trafficking of the girls to Kingstown, where they are deliberately killed by Constantine (Yorick van Wageningen). The horrific incident took place when the bus carrying them was deliberately pushed off the bridge.

Witnessing such a brutal act, especially one involving innocent girls caught up in a dangerous smuggling operation, deeply affects Iris and breaks her.

Why was Iris visibly shaken by the bus accident in ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 7?

As Constantine and Iris drove past the accident site, Iris got out of the car and stood there silently, staring into the distance for a long time.

Constantine took her back to the car, expressing concern for her well-being. This was unusual because Constantine had never cared for anyone before.

In Constantine’s Kavo, news of the girls’ deaths was broadcast on TV. When Constantine asked her not to, Iris denied him, unable to tear her eyes from the news report. The accident stirred deep emotions in him that he struggled to process.

Constantine was furious and ordered his men to stop the TV report. He then turned to Iris and said, “You’ve endured enough trauma already. I’m protecting you from more.” He hugged her and kissed her, but Iris’ body remained still, tears streaming down her face.

It seems that Iris may have endured similar ordeals for these girls in the past. It is possible that Constantine was involved in iris trafficking for his illegal activities and that he was caught in an accident in which he lost his family but survived.

This traumatic event may explain his current behavior and emotional reactions. The experience left Iris deeply scarred, possibly leading to a complicated relationship with Constantine based on fear and trauma.

In ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 1, Milo Santer (Aidan Gillen) brings Iris to seduce Mike McCluskey (Jeremy Renner), but Mike never uses Iris as Milo’s target. It is plausible that upon Iris’s arrival in Kingston in Season 1, she tragically lost members of her family in an accident or foul play.

The trauma of losing a loved one will affect him deeply. Witnessing the brutal murders of Russian girls in ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 will likely intensify Iris’ existing trauma.

For the past few days, Iris has been secretly monitoring Constantine on Mike’s behalf. He informs Mike that Constantine and the Aryan Brotherhood are cooperating in the drug trade business.

Without Iris’ help, Mike would never have gotten this critical information. His role in gathering and sharing this information highlights his strategic importance to Kingstown’s ongoing energy dynamics.

However, after witnessing the bus accident, Iris is deeply shaken and lost. He seems to have lost his sense of purpose and is struggling to cope. In this condition, he may take wrong or bad decisions which may affect his safety. His past trauma may also affect Mike’s efforts to restore balance in Kingstown.

When Iris makes a secret call to Mike in ‘The Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 3 Episode 7, Constantine’s men become suspicious and ask him who he is communicating with.

Constantine may interpret Iris’ actions as a betrayal that deserves dire consequences. The revelation may lead him to view Iris as a liability or threat to his operation, prompting him to take drastic measures to eliminate her.
