The Steelers are not interested in pursuing the big-name QB despite internal division over Kenny Pickett, according to report

Many expect the Pittsburgh Steelers to consider pursuing the veteran quarterback in the 2024 offseason. In fact, the team is not interested in adding the signal-caller who is expected to be the starter, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, even with the apparent internal division over selecting former Kenny Pickett in the first round.

“That would include Justin Fields, Kirk Cousins, and maybe even Russell Wilson, who has a relationship with the Steelers,” Jerry Dulac wrote, downplaying the possibility of any big name QB coming to Pittsburgh. “They are committed to giving Pickett a third season to see if he is the guy who can do more than just win a playoff game.”

As for Pickett, who finished 2023 on the bench after backup Mason Rudolph earned a postseason start, Dulac suggests there is a faction of the Steelers organization that believes Rudolph “should be a starter after the way that ended,” leading the team to Three wins in a row.
