Three people have been charged after RCMP say they seized cocaine, a shotgun and bear spray in Leduc, Alta. -Edmonton
Leduc, Alberta. RCMP have arrested three people and laid more than 20 serious charges after they were allegedly found in possession of cocaine, a sawed-off shotgun, an SKS rifle and various types of ammunition.
Leduc RCMP say on August 31, at 1:35 a.m., a person was seen removing the license plate from a vehicle parked at a business on Sparrow Drive in Leduc.
Police conducted patrols in the area, located the suspicious vehicle and stopped it for a traffic stop.
A license plate search revealed that the plate did not match that of the vehicle and that the license plate had been reported stolen in Edmonton.
All three people in the car were arrested and police say a search of the vehicle yielded 28 grams of cocaine, bear spray, an expandable baton and various types of ammunition.
Following further investigation, Leduc RCMP, with a*sistance from the Drug and Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant at a room at a nearby hotel. Police say they seized a shotgun, a sawed-off shotgun and an SKS rifle.

Allen Manning, 21, of Warburg, Alberta, is charged with:
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- reckless use of a firearm
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- falsification of firearm serial number
- possession of a prohibited firearm
- failure to comply with conditions of release order
Manning remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on September 14.
Kesha O’reilly, 19, of Warburg, has been charged with the following charges:
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- reckless use of a firearm
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- falsification of firearm serial number
- possession of a prohibited firearm
O’reilly also remains in custody. She is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on September 21.
Robert Gordon Francis, 38, of Edmonton, is charged with:
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- possession of a controlled substance – cocaine
- failure to comply with conditions of release order
Francis remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on September 14.
