Travis Kelce Shades Simone Biles’ Husband Jonathan Owens After ‘Catchy’ Comments

Travis Kelce got a little shady about Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens on Wednesday’s episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast.

The soon-to-be-retired Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Philadelphia Eagles center mocked Travis’ 2024 People’s Choice Awards nomination for Athlete of the Year on ‘New Heights’ when he did the jab.

“How is Simone Biles doing about this but her boyfriend [sic] is not it ? Jason, 36, asked Green Bay Packers safety, 28, as Travis, 34, interrupted with a laugh: “How am I doing on this?”

Travis didn’t seem as surprised by Owens’ exclusion from the category as he added somewhat sarcastically, “Owens?” I played some good ball there, I guess.

The two-time Super Bowl champion also joked that he shouldn’t be nominated because all he did was host “Saturday Night Live,” notably failing to mention that his relationship with Taylor Swift could have made him this honor.

Owens angered fans in December after saying he was more of a “trap” than his wife, a seven-time Olympic medalist, and claimed he had never heard of her when he had met on the celebrity dating app Raya.

“I always say men are the catch,” he said during an appearance on the “Pivot” podcast.

While social media users criticized Owens for his controversial comments, Biles, 26, took his side throughout the ordeal.

“for life,” she wrote under her Instagram post, echoing her sentiment that they are “not bothered” by the backlash.

“Just know we’ve been cooped up here,” Owens added alongside a series of snaps of the two.

Although Internet sleuths discovered Owens’ old tweets that proved he was in fact following gymnastics before meeting Biles, he doubled down on his claim that he didn’t know her.

“A lot of people don’t believe me when I say I had no idea,” he told Vanity Fair.

“I never thought, ‘Oh, let me check out the gymnastics,'” the footballer said, noting that he was participating in a training camp during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Owens and Biles were married in April 2023 in a courthouse wedding. They married again a few weeks later with a bigger party in Mexico.
