Unique Name of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Newborn Baby Revealed
The unusual name of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s second child was revealed a month after the singer gave birth.
The “Lift Me Up” hitmaker, 35, and rapper, 34, have named their son Riot Rose Mayers, The Blast reports.
The name could be a subtle nod to A$AP’s track “Riot” released in July and featuring Pharrell Williams.
This follows the couple’s naming tradition which favors the letter “R”, after the couple named their first son, born in May 2022, RZA Athelston Mayers.
According to the birth certificate obtained by the outlet, Rihanna gave birth on August 1, 2023 at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles at 7:41 a.m.
The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker opted for renowned obstetrician-gynecologist Thais Aliabadi, who previously featured on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’.
Aliabadi also helped deliver the son of Al Pacino, 83, and girlfriend Noor Alfallah, 29, Roman.
In February, Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, revealed to Page Six that the new parents had given “a few names” for their child.
However, he refused to share the nicknames at the time, joking, “She’ll get my head off if I tell you!”
The 9-time Grammy winner kept her second pregnancy a secret until her Super Bowl 2023 halftime show in February.
The Fenty Beauty designer kicked off the performance by cradling her budding belly in a red outfit, later confirming she was expecting baby #2.

As for her firstborn, Rihanna and A$AP — real name Rakim Mayers — have shown their baby boy’s face on social media since he welcomed him in May 2022.
The couple later featured their happy baby in an adorable Vogue series, but kept their name a secret until May 2023.

Although Rihanna explained to The Washington Post in November 2022 that she simply never “took the time” to divulge those details, she hinted at the moniker for months while wearing clothes honoring producer and rapper RZA. , the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
It’s also a nod to A$AP’s middle name, Athelaston.
Before the couple became parents, Rihanna and A$AP were longtime friends and collaborators whose relationship took a romantic turn in 2020.
