Valérie Bertinelli surprises potential burglars after local thefts
Valérie Bertinelli caught two potential burglars on her home’s security cameras on Wednesday.
The actress shared the images on her Instagram Story and told her 1.1 million followers that she called 911 to report the two men hiding outside her California home in the wee hours of the morning.
“We had a series of robberies in my neighborhood, including my neighbor,” Bertinelli, 62, wrote.
“This is one of the men who came to inspect my house last night,” she captioned a video time stamped at 1:14 a.m. “I think he stopped because he saw my camera on. The other one arrived an hour before him. P-king scary.
In the footage, the second man is seen walking halfway down the aisle of the “One Day at a Time” alum while carrying several bags, including a backpack, before stopping in his tracks and staring around him. He then turns around and leaves the property.
Bertinelli shared a photo of the first guy in another post, showing him walking away from home while also carrying a backpack.
“The police arrived quite quickly and checked around the houses,” she explained.
The Food Network host assured her fans that she plans to install “more motion sensors” and that she “is also considering putting in barbed wire [her] front fence. She also explained that she sets an alarm in her home “every night” before she goes to bed.
Bertinelli has a 31-year-old son, Wolfgang, whom she shared with her late ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen. She finalized her divorce from her second husband, Tom Vitale, last month.
