Who is Danny Masterson’s wife? Meet Bijou Phillips
Danny Masterson’s wife, Bijou Phillips, was in court when her husband was sentenced to 30 years to life for two rapes he committed in 2003.
The ‘Raising Hope’ actress reportedly remained stoic and even kept her sungla*ses on when the judge issued her decision on September 7, 2023.
She and the “That ’70s Show” alum, both Scientologists, married in 2011 and have a child together.
Here’s everything you need to know about Phillips.
She has famous parents
Phillips is the daughter of Mamas & the Papas singer John Phillips and actress-model Genevieve Waite.
The couple separated when Bijou was a child and she was placed in foster care after neither parent was deemed fit to care for her.
John eventually won custody of her when she was in third grade and they moved to Long Island, New York.
Her father died in 2001 and her mother in 2019.
She was a New York socialite
When she was just 14, Bijou dropped out of school and moved into a New York City apartment near Fifth Avenue with her own housekeeper.
She quickly became a tabloid staple, known for her excessive partying and her friendships with other socialites like Paris and Nicky Hilton.
“If you were 14 and you could live alone in an apartment in New York, and you were guests at all these clubs, and you had a bank account, and you had car service, you could call for can go where you want, what would happen?’ she said in an interview with The Observer in 2002.
The outlet described her as a “wild child” and Bijou admitted to drinking and taking drugs such as cocaine, ecstasy and heroin.
She was also a model throughout her teenage years, appearing on the cover of “Interview” magazine when she was 13 and in the infamous 1995 Calvin Klein underwear ad that sparked a child p**nography investigation.
She is an actress
In her twenties, Bijou gave up modeling in favor of acting.
His first major film appearance was in the 1999 film “Black and White.”
He was followed by a slew of roles in films like ‘Almost Famous’, ‘Bully’, ‘The Door in the Floor’ and ‘Choke’.
She notably starred in the television series “Raising Hope” from 2010 to 2013.
She has a daughter
Bijou and Masterson said “I do” on October 18, 2011, in a private castle in Ireland, after seven years of relationship.
Less than three years later, they welcomed their daughter, Fianna, on February 14, 2014.
“Hello friends. Beyond is thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter Fianna Francis Masterson!” the father-of-one wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Mom and baby are doing great. From now on you can all call me dj dadpants.
Fianna was nine years old at the time of Masterson’s sentencing.
She received a kidney transplant
In 2017, Bijou was rushed to hospital with a blood infection.
A spokesperson for the actress told TMZ at the time that she was born with small kidneys and has suffered from kidney disease all her life.
However, the infection required a transplant, which she received in April of that year.

She was ‘devastated’ by her husband’s sentencing
In May 2023, Masterson was convicted of raping two women.
The following month, a source told People that Bijou was “shocked and devastated” by the decision.
“She was unprepared for the verdict,” the source said.
“She didn’t expect him to be found guilty. She couldn’t believe he was immediately taken into custody and remanded in custody.
Bijou also reportedly felt “terrified” at the thought of having to raise her daughter on her own.
California Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Ohlmedo reminded Masterson during his sentencing that he was “not the victim.”
The judge told the court: according to journalist Meghann Cuniff, “Your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s choice and voice. Twenty years ago today your actions were criminal, and that is why you are here. »
