Woman Wanted on Grandparent Scam Warrants – Calgary
Calgary police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman wanted on 17 warrants, including for fraud related to the targeting of the elderly in a grandparenting scam.
Alana Love Duncan, 45, is wanted on multiple warrants, including possession of counterfeit money, possession of stolen property, fraud against a person over $5,000, failure to appear in court and other offences.
Police believe Duncan is responsible for defrauding seniors by pretending to be a troubled relative in immediate need of cash.
Duncan is described as around 5’4” tall, weighing 170 pounds, with an average build, black hair and green eyes.

Recent reports from victims indicate that scammers are calling or texting them pretending to be a loved one and telling them they have been arrested. They then ask for money for bail, and the amount often amounts to thousands of dollars.
Police say anyone who suspects they are talking to a scammer claiming to have a loved one in custody should request a police case number and then call the Calgary Police Department or their local law enforcement agency to obtain the file number. confirmed.
