Zayn Malik says he doesn’t know if he’s “really in love” despite Gigi Hadid’s romance
Zayn Malik has wondered if he “really fell in love” after his romance with Gigi Hadid.
“I don’t know if I’m really in love at this point,” the “One Direction” star said during Wednesday’s episode of the “Zach Sang Show.”
He explained that the definition of love changes with experience, telling host Zach Sang: “You look at it with new eyes and say, ‘Well, maybe I wasn’t in love there.’
Reflecting on his past, Malik continued: “Was it love or the life experience we are going through? Who do you know? We’re just in situations where we look at them with different eyes and it’s a completely different situation.
The “Pillowtalk” singer, 31, added that it is difficult for him to define love because he has not yet experienced it outside of his family.
Malik’s most recent romance was with Hadid, 29, with whom he shares 3-year-old daughter Khai.
The former couple was in an on-and-off relationship for six years as they began dating in 2015 before splitting in 2018.

They briefly reconciled at the end of 2018 but broke up again months later.
In early 2020, the British pop star and the model got back together and announced that they were expecting a baby in April.
Their relationship came to a screeching halt in October 2021 when Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, claimed Malik hit her during an argument.
At the time, the “Night Changes” singer vehemently denied the allegations and did not contest the hara*sment accusations.
Although the boy and the Victoria’s Secret model have separated, they have maintained an amicable parenting relationship with their daughter.
As Malik returns to the limelight after a years-long hiatus, he is scheduled to release his solo album, “Room Under the Stars,” on May 17.
In his latest project, the songwriter writes about a broken relationship in his upcoming songs “How It Feels” and “Alienated.”
Speaking about Sang’s long-awaited album on the podcast on Wednesday, Malik explained that he wrote it when he and his unnamed ex-girlfriend were breaking up.
“The first song I ever wrote was ‘Alienated,'” he said. “And that was at the end of my relationship. Like when my ex and I broke up. So there’s a heavy narrative of the kinds of things I was going through mentally in that situation and what I was thinking and how I was feeling.”
Since then, Hadid has moved on with actor Bradley Cooper, where they were first spotted hanging out together in New York City last fall.
However, the couple did not confirm their relationship until January when they were photographed holding hands in London.
