5 NXT Superstars who deserve to be promoted to the main roster

The WWE Draft 2024 is fast approaching, and it is set to take place on the April 26, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown and the April 29, 2024, episode of Monday Night RAW. During this time, several SmackDown Superstars would be drafted to RAW and vice versa.

Apart from that, many NXT Superstars can also get called up to the main roster. Previously, during the 2023 WWE Draft, NXT stars were promoted to the main roster, including Indi Hartwell, Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, JD McDonagh, Zoey Stark, Grayson Waller, and more.

With that, it remains to be seen which NXT stars will get a chance to showcase their sk**ls on the main roster as we move forward. Meanwhile, here are five NXT Superstars who could be promoted to the main roster during the 2024 WWE Draft.

1. Carmelo Hayes

Christian Brigham, aka Carmelo Hayes, previously became a part of WWE in 2021. Since then, he has been displaying excellent in-ring sk**ls while performing on the NXT brand division. Hayes won several championships.

These include winning the NXT Championship once, the NXT North American Championship twice, the NXT Cruiserweight Championship once and more. Thus, it makes sense that he has achieved a lot in NXT and could be promoted to the main roster soon.

Meanwhile, Hayes recently faced Trick Williams in a steel cage match on the April 16, 2024 episode of NXT. However, the result of the match saw Williams defeat Hayes. Interestingly, after the match the fans started chanting “Thanks, Melo” as if they were sure this was his final match in NXT.

Also, after the match, Hayes took to his ‘X’ handle to make a post. He wrote, “And that’s what it’s going to be.” Thus, it seems Carmelo may have signaled his departure from NXT. As of now, he may soon rise to the main roster during the upcoming draft.

2. Ilja Dragunov

Ilya Rukober, aka Ilja Dragunov, previously joined WWE in 2019. Since then, he has impressed many with his in-ring sk**ls while performing on the NXT brand division. He also won many titles.

This includes winning the NXT Championship once and the NXT United Kingdom Championship once. However, Dragunov has been performing in NXT for a long time now, so this could be his chance to showcase his sk**ls on the main roster.

With that, it’s worth mentioning that Dragunov was recently involved in a feud with Trick Williams. Also, the two faced each other at Spring Breaking’ 2024, with the NXT Championship on the line. However, the match resulted in Williams defeating Dragunov to win the title.

Meanwhile, it is noted that there was a condition of the match. Accordingly, if Williams had lost against Dragonov, he would have been forced to leave NXT. However, that apparently did not happen. But it could very well happen that instead of Trick, Ilja might leave NXT and be promoted to the main roster.

3. Baron Corbin

Thomas Pestok, aka Baron Corbin, is currently showcasing his sk**ls in WWE’s NXT brand division. Meanwhile, he previously became a part of WWE in 2012; After that, he was a*signed to the NXT brand division. Moving on, he made his main roster debut at WrestleMania 32.

During that time, he participated in many storylines and feuds and won the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2017. He also won the United States Championship once. However, he went undrafted during the 2023 WWE Draft.

With that, he was A free agent announcement. Meanwhile, he later returned to NXT and has been a part of the brand division ever since. Now, Fightful Select recently reported that Corbin is expected to be promoted to the main roster during the upcoming draft.

However, it is still unclear which brand he will be drafted. Thus, it looks like Corbin’s time in NXT may be coming to an end soon. It will be interesting to see how his second major roster run goes.

4. Lyra Valkyria

Aoife Cusack, aka Lyra Valkyria, was previously part of the Stamford-based campaign in 2020. Since then, he has been displaying tremendous in-ring sk**ls in the NXT brand division. Although her promo sk**ls are still under development, she has often received praise from the WWE Universe for her in-ring sk**ls.

Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that before this, Lyra Valkyrie was a big opportunity. She was involved in a feud with one of WWE’s top female superstars, Becky Lynch. With that, Lyra defeated Roxanne Perez and Indie Hartwell to face Becky Lynch.

Thus, Valkyria and Lynch faced each other at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023, where the NXT Women’s Championship was held. Eventually, Lyra defeated Lynch to win the title. It was an outstanding match, which helped Lyra gain more attention from the fans.

Thus, now may be the time for him to leave NXT behind and make his main roster debut Also, it’s worth mentioning that Becky Lynch is currently the Women’s World Champion in WWE. Thus, Valkyrie could rekindle her feud with Lynch after her main roster debut and challenge for The Man for the Women’s World Championship. This will indeed give Lyra a huge career boost.

5. Roxanne Perez

Carla Gonzalez, aka Roxanne Perez, was previously part of the Stamford-based campaign in 2022. After that, he was a*signed to the NXT brand division. So, it makes sense that Perez has been a*sociated with WWE for the past two years. Meanwhile, in this short period of time, he has achieved a lot.

She has been the NXT Women’s Champion not once but twice. Also, she won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with Cora Z. However, not too long ago, during an interview, Perez shared his desire to join the RAW or SmackDown brand division during the upcoming WWE Draft.

Also, during another interview, he opened up about who he wants to face in his main roster debut. She mentions that there are many and names like Bayley, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, Io Skye and Dakota Kai. Thus, it seems that Perez has strong intentions of being promoted to the main roster.

Meanwhile, at 2024 Spring Breaking, she defeated Lyra Valkyrie and Tatum Paxley in a triple-threat match to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. The question may arise as to how it can be drafted with headings. However, it is possible for an NXT Champion to be promoted to the main roster.

This is because, at the time of the 2023 WWE Draft, when Indi Hartwell was drafted to the main roster, she was still the NXT Women’s Champion. Also, Alba Fire and Isla Dawn were NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions when called up to the main roster. So, Roxanne’s wish to be promoted to the main roster is likely to come true.

However, only time will tell if any of the aforementioned superstars will get drafted to the main roster. Regardless, fans will definitely be looking forward to the 2024 WWE Draft. Also, fans will be waiting to see what surprises Triple H has in store for them.
