With WrestleMania 40 in the books, Triple H is looking to make some changes and usher in a new era in WWE. He has always talked about starting a new chapter in the world of WWE and now has complete control over management. With the dawn of a new era, the WWE Draft is the next stop for fans and admirers as plenty of surprises await in the coming weeks.
The draft is a special event that takes place annually and is quite popular among fans. It has brought quite a few surprises and created many surprises over the years. Superstars from SmackDown and Raw can be drafted for rival brands during the WWE Draft. It saw several superstars from NXT called up to the main roster based on their performances.
This year’s draft includes huge superstars, including CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton and more. With so much excitement and hype about the new era, fans are expecting big things from this year’s draft. Join us as we look at some of the potential performers who could jump ship in the upcoming WWE Draft.
Carrion Cross and RAW’s Final Testament
Karrion Kross is currently one of the most accomplished wrestlers on the SmackDown roster. Since his days in WWE NXT, he has shown tremendous growth and improvement with spectacular matches to his name. In recent days, his team The Final Testament which includes the Authors of Pain (Akam and Razor with Paul Ellering) has been feuding with Bobby Lashley’s team The Pride.
After suffering a loss to The Pride at WrestleMania XL, Carreon and his team haven’t had much to do with the blue brand. Fans have high hopes for Cross and things could be different when he comes to RAW during the upcoming draft.
Randy Orton to RAW
WWE’s Apex Predator returned to Survivor Series last year and is currently on the blue brand. Things have gone downhill for Orton since his return. He was involved in World Title and US Title feuds but lost both over the course of several months. In his most recent match, he was defeated by Logan Paul at WrestleMania XL for the US title in a triple-threat match.
Monday night might be the best time for Orton to switch brands and start fresh. He has several potential rivalries on RAW, including superstars like CM Punk, World Champion Damien Priest, Gunther and many other high-level stars.
Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown
The King of Strong Style has been on a roll since 2023 with several major feuds Shinsuke Nakamura had a long rivalry with Seth Rollins for the WWE World Championship in 2023, with outstanding performances. He then had a brief rivalry with Cody Rhodes in early 2024 that saw how brutal Nakamura could be with his heel persona.
Given his heel work, he always deserves more than his rivals to lose. By the looks of it, he’s currently being used as an extended talent. As the draft approaches, Nakamura could find himself a spot on the blue brand with new things in store for him.
Ilja Dragunov on SmackDown
The draft always brings a few NXT Superstars to the main roster with huge build and hype. The top NXT competitor this year seems to be former NXT champion Ilja Dragunov He is a tremendous talent and has been delivering top level matches as champion.

After his reign ends at NXT Spring Breaking Week One on Tuesday, April 23 against Trick Williams, Ilja can join the main roster which will further benefit his career moving forward.
Jey Uso to Smackdown
Since Payback 2023, main event Jey Uso has been a singles competitor and a part of RAW. He has burst onto the scene with his extreme abilities and continues to enthrall the audience. Jey battled his brother Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40 which marked the final note of their chapter.
After Jimmy was brutally attacked by Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa on SmackDown after WrestleMania 40, he desperately needed his brother. With the odds against him, Jay might back him up this time.
You never know what the WWE draft brings to the table
WWE drafts have a long history over the years and have always been unpredictable. While there are several superstars in the deck that can be traded, many superstars also make their stunning comebacks during this event. Over the years Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and many other superstars have returned to the same event.
Alexa Bliss is one of the names that could be back in action during the draft event. She was away from the organization for a long time due to maternity leave. Carmella is another superstar in the same situation. The Princess of Staten Island could be drafted to RAW or SmackDown and she could make her epic return during the event.
With the whole Uncle Howdy thing going on at every show, Braun Strowman is another huge name who could make an appearance during the event. Strowman has been out of action since last May and could be a surprise on hold. It all comes down to April 26 as the WWE Draft begins on WWE SmackDown and ends on RAW April 29, 2024.
