Celine Dion’s doc on career and battle with Stiff Person Syndrome reveals first look — and premiere date

Celine Dion’s upcoming documentary officially has a premiere date.

“I Am: Céline Dion” will be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 25, and the Canadian singer, 56, shared a first look at the project on Instagram on Tuesday.

This feature is set to take a look at her music career and struggle with the autoimmune neurological disorder Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

The photo shows Dionne pumping her fist in the air as she screams. She wore a beige jacket and tied her hair back in a low bun.

The official feature-length clip reads: “‘I Am: Céline Dion’ gives us an honest, behind-the-scenes look at the iconic star’s struggle with a life-changing illness. This inspiring documentary is a love letter to her fans, highlighting the music that guided her life while also displaying the resilience of the human spirit.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer first announced the project in January and was filmed over the course of 12 months.

“[The] “The last two years have been very challenging for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with it and manage it, but not letting it define my condition,” she said in a statement at the time.

Dion was diagnosed with SPS in December 2022 and canceled her tour dates amid her recovery.

She continued: “As the road to resuming my artistic career continued, I realized how much I missed being able to see my fans.”

“During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis.”

Dion lost control of her muscles during her battle, according to her sister, Claudette Dion.

According to Columbia University, the medical problem causes painful muscle spasms and affects one in every million people.

Since her condition was revealed, she has made some public appearances, including at a hockey game in Las Vegas and the 2024 Grammy Awards in February.

“Those of us lucky enough to be here at the Grammy Awards should never take for granted the immense love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people around the world,” she said at the ceremony attended by a number of stars.

She added: “I am very happy to present the Grammy Award that the legends Diana Ross and Sting presented to me 27 years ago.”

She presented the Album of the Year award to Taylor Swift for her album “Midnights.”
